High-speed train from Moscow to Helsinki will transit St. Petersburg

Russian Railways is considering a project to launch a high-speed train between Moscow and Helsinki.
According to Dmitry Pegov, Deputy CEO of Russian Railways, the discussion of the idea started before cross-border travel restrictions were introduced. It is planned that the train will run on the existing infrastructure transiting via the Ladozhsky railway station in St. Petersburg. At present, there is the Allegro high-speed train between St. Petersburg and Helsinki.
