Sochi has a typical subtropical climate that is warm and humid; it is characteristic of a coastal area and resembles the climate of the northern humid subtropics Season - summer, early autumn. Winters in Sochi are mild. January and February are the coldest months, with average temperatures around 10 °C (50 °F) during the day and 3 °C (37 °F) at night. Generally the summer season lasts about six months, from May to October. July and August are the warmest months, with average temperatures around 27–28 °C (81–82 °F) during the day and 20 °C (68 °F) at night.
